As you all saw, I ate myself silly in Paris, and I don’t regret a single bite! The bread, the cream, the cheese, the butter… those folks really know how to have a good time! Now that I am back, though, I’ve been trying to clean up my insides. My Paris detox starts every morning with a luscious breakfast blend.
Simply blend together the following:
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp roasted flax seeds
3 oz. silken tofu
3/4 cup Blue Machine Naked smoothie or other all-fruit smoothie of choice
I chose almond milk because it has higher protein and lower carbs and sugars than other non-dairy milks, plus it adds calcium. Flax seeds have omega-3 fatty acids, plus protein and fiber, and a nutty flavor. Flavorless silken tofu adds protein and bulk along with a creamy texture. Lastly, sweet Blue Machine boasts the most fiber of any of the Naked smoothies, plus lots of Vitamin B, C, and E. It’s made with blueberries, blackberries, apples, and bananas.
Can a fragile glass jar safely contain so much powerful deliciousness?!
This is high in sugars, but they mainly come from fruit, and there is no refined sugar. It’s also got a lot of protein and fiber. Best of all, it tastes splendid and is quite voluminous. I popped it in a jar and took it on a long walk! Often, though, I eat it with a spoon from a bowl, which slows me down and also makes it feel like a refreshing dessert.
