Since my birthday’s in December, not to mention all those winter holidays requiring thank-you cards, and the annual New Year’s resolution to send more letters, January tends to be Paper-Rasslin’ Month ’round these parts.
This week I relied on 1) A new set of alphabet stamps, and 2) The crown jewel of my crafting collection, a very outdated Pantone color guide that was left for trash by someone in my office. Perhaps it’s no longer accurate enough to match print-to-screen colors in professional settings, but it sure turns my stationer’s crank.
The second card and envelope set didn’t make use of the Pantone guide, just the alphabet stamps. But, note the new Forever stamp (depicting a trident maple bonsai tree in informal upright style). Warning: Stamp prices will increase to $0.46 on January 27th! I took the opportunity to purchase possibly too many new postage stamps, but guys! They have 20th century poets! They have choreographers and tiny trees! They invented a word (“Earthscapes“)! Basically the USPS has identified their target audience, and it’s just me.
